Uncorked- By Baxter Community Day Program

In the Fall of 2015, Baxter Day Program came up with the idea to create cork pumpkins to sell & raise money for our day program. Several of our clients enjoyed painting corks & turning them into sellable products. Collectively, we decided we needed a catchy business name & asked around for opinions. Leah, from Kirkwood came up with the perfect fit, hence "Uncorked" was born. Since then we have had numerous donations of corks & wine bottles:} Uncorked evolved by coming up with other craft ideas that could be made or recycled from corks & also wine bottles. Since then we have made cork trivets, pin boards, ornaments & snowmen. Baxter Day Program clients have enjoyed sparkling the wine bottles & adding lights & ribbons to them.

We have set up our very affordable items at the Limoges Craft Sale, The Great Glebe Garage Sale & have had orders from McCauley Financial Services, friends, co-workers, & family members. In Summer of 2016 we were approached by Karen Belyea to become part of the planning/decorating committee for TCE's 35th Gala at the Centurion Centre. It was a huge success & we received many thanks & compliments for our table décor & lighted bottles. BDP also decorated & helped design the Gala attendance book.

Over the last few years we have created & sold a variety of crafts & products such as bird feeders, decorations, holiday crafts, candles & the list goes on.

With the help of our proceeds we were recently able to purchase a Cricut machine & press, where we are now branching out to make custom orders on signs, sock, wine glasses, mugs & so much more. We have also been able to grow & sell seedlings & plants with help also from TCE's Special Fund & through our fundraising.

Baxter Day Program clients love the holidays & therefore continue to create beautiful crafts for essentially every season & holiday. Many of our items can be viewed on TCE's website or directly at Baxter Day Program or Head Office.

Over the last few years "Uncorked" has grown such great business & has received tremendous support through word of mouth, family & friends of both staff & clients, craft & garage sales.

100% of our fundraising efforts through "Uncorked" goes directly back to Baxter Day Program to continue with our business & to provide different outings & activities to our residents. Thank you all for your continued support of "Uncorked". Feel free to learn more by calling Wendy Bonneville or Cheryl Ostoforoff at Baxter Day Program for more info.
