TCE's COVID-19 Preparedness
The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve and as such, TCE is taking enhanced measures to ensure the protection of the people we support, our employees, and our community.
Both Premier Ford and Prime Minister Trudeau have held mutiple press conferences updating us about what the province and federal governments are doing to support and protect citizens.
The government has requested that we stay home as much as possible, work remotely from home where possible, and pratice physical distancing when out in the community.
It was decided that as of March 17, 2020 that TCE's Head Office would close and that employees would work from home. TCE's Day Programs, Day Services, and Long Term Outreach were also closed.
TCE has enacted a no visitor policy to reduce the number of contacts with other people in an effort to keep TCE virus free. We will not take any undue risks with the people we support or our employees' health and well being.
Our employees are very responsible and have the best interest of the people we support as their primary focus. Employees have been self-identifying, self screening, and contacting us with any questions or concerns.
We acknowledge and thank our employees' dedication and commitment. Direct Service Employees do not have an option to "work at home" because they are supporting individuals in their homes. At the end of their working day/night, they go home to their families and keeping their families safe is important to us as well. By working together and respecting these guidelines we can do our best to keep all families healthy and safe.
TCE continuues to encourage proper handwashing, sanitizing, the use of personal protective equipment, and physical distancing. We maintain full supplies of food, water, and supplies that are closely monitored by Program Supervisors.
TCE continues to monitor daily updates and make any necessary changes to protocols or policies in a timely manner.
TCE is committed to keeping the people we support, our employees, and our community safe and healthy. #stayhomestaysafe #flattenthecurve #togetherathome
